How do I get a permit to fish/boat at Lamar City Lake?

Fishing and boating at Lamar City Lake requires a fishing permit by anyone over 16-year-old or older, unless they are over 65 and a resident of Barton County.

Season fishing and boating permits are good from January through December each year. They can be purchased in person at City Hall or the Parks and Recreation Office or online through our online catalog in the activities tab. Fishing is $30 per year, boating is $45 per year. Non-motorized boats (canoes, kayaks, paddle boats) do need a permit, however it is just $10 per year.

Daily fishing and boating permits can be purchased by using the drop box at the Lake Office on the south side of the lake or by using our online catalog in the activities tab.
